
2024 ECONOMIC GLOBAL OUTLOOK
The IACT is delighted to welcome TD Securities to present the 2024 Economic Global Outlook which will inform members as they navigate through the year ahead. The Outlook will examine how the macro and policy environments are likely to evolve this year, along with our top market themes. Richard Kelly, Head of Global Strategy will moderate a panel discussion with James, Pooja & Alex. Please see their bios below. The panel will present the economic outlook for the US, euro area, UK & China, along with key FX & rate forecasts.

Richard Kelly, Head of Global Strategy, TD Securities
Rich Kelly is the Head of the FICC Global Strategy team at TD Securities, providing leading investment and strategic advice for global investors on G10 FX, rates, commodities, and emerging markets, as well as top-down global macro analysis. The focus is on beating consensus across calls on macro data, assessing the common trends in major economies and markets, and translating that into profitable trading and investment performance. The team augments some of the market's leading experts with a unique quant framework to deliver an edge for our clients. He has built a team which outperforms significantly larger competitors across the market, and is now regularly ranked in the Top 10 for Rates and FX in the US, #1 in Canadian Rates and FX for Canadian institutional investors, and Top 3 in Commodities. Rich more recently worked as Head of European Rates and FX Research for TD Securities in London. Prior to this, he worked as the Senior International Economist for TD Economics, responsible for forecasting the global economy. He has also worked at the International Monetary Fund in Washington D.C., where he analysed emerging market economies and the IMF's response to financial crises, as well as several other economic development organizations and non-profits. Rich earned a B.A. in International Affairs and Middle Eastern Studies and an M.A. in International Development from The George Washington University in Washington D.C., as well as an M.A. in Economics from the University of Toronto.

James Rossiter, Head of Global Macro Strategy, TD Securities
James is Head of Global Macro Strategy and leads TD Securities' European macro coverage in London. His research and analysis covers global and European macroeconomic trends, with a focus on core central bank views, macro data forecasting, and geopolitical risks. James joined TD Securities in London in 2015 after spending 13 years in increasingly senior positions at the Bank of Canada. Following an exchange at the European Central Bank, in 2012 James went on to a two-year secondment to the Bank of England. In his roles at the BoC and BoE, James held senior positions on the teams producing the macroeconomic forecasts and making monetary policy recommendations to policy committees. James holds a Master of Arts degree in economics from the University of Toronto and a BA (Honours) in economics from the University of Alberta.
Pooja Kumra, Senior European & UK Rates Strategy, TD Securities
Pooja Kumra is a Senior European & UK Rates Strategist for TD Securities in London. She works closely with the global team to provide strategic views in the rates space. Pooja started her career as a European Rates Strategist in 2011. Her primary area of focus has been on cash/money markets and looking at relative value/macro trading strategies. Pooja joined TD in August 2017. Prior to this she acted as Head of Fixed Income Research at ITC markets for approximately a year. Pooja has also worked as a European rates strategist at Nomura and UBS with primary focus on cash and money market space. Pooja has pursued a Masters in Mathematics from University of Cambridge followed by Masters in Finance from LSE.
Alex Loo, FX & Macro Strategist Asia, TD Securities
Alex is an FX and Macro Strategist for TD Securities in Singapore, providing research and analysis on Asia-Pacific economies and markets to clients. Prior to joining TD Securities, Alex worked as an economist in the Ministry of Trade & Industry (Singapore). Alex holds a MSc in Economics from University College London and is a CFA charter holder.
