Honorary Members
The IACT Committee appoint as Honorary Life members those who, in its opinion, merit such recognition by virtue of their special services to the Association or of their distinguished position in treasury, risk and or corporate finance.
Jimmy Doyle is a treasury specialist with more than 30 years’ experience in the corporate and banking treasury sectors.
He is currently a member of the board of ADHD Ireland on which he serves in a financial management and governance capacity. He was also a founder of Brain Tumour Ireland and sat on the board from its conception in 2012 until 2020.
Doyle retired in Sept 2015 from his position as a senior consultant in corporate treasury services with PwC in Dublin, having previously served as Director, Treasury, at the Bank of Scotland (Ireland) between 1996 and 2010. His corporate treasury experience is due to the 15 years preceding his banking career, which he spent with Irish Life Assurance, including 11 years as manager of the treasury department.
Jimmy is a founder member and former President of the Irish Association of Corporate Treasurers (IACT). He was also a founder of the European Association of Corporate Treasurers and served on its Board from 2002 to 2014. He was IACT’s representative to the International Group of Treasury Associations (IGTA) during the same period. In 2011 Jimmy was elected Chairman of IGTA for that year. He also served for many years on the editorial board of Treasury Management International (TMI) magazine.
Patrick Corkery is the Financial Controller of Vanfleet Transport, a leading distribution company to the retail sector. He has been with the company for 20 years. Prior to joining Vanfleet, he worked in financial services with KPMG.
A Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and a Commerce graduate of UCD, Patrick was IACT Student of the Year 2007 for the DCU Graduate Certificate of Corporate Treasury.
Patrick was one of the longest serving Committee members and passionate in driving member engagement. He served as IACT President in 2013.
John Gilsenan has over 35 years’ experience in the international financial services industry as a Managing Director, Finance Director and Head of Compliance. The main part of his career was with the Porsche Group involved in corporate treasury, reinsurance, cash and asset management and bond issuance. He has more recently worked in senior Compliance positions in the Funds industry with Augusta Asset Management, W&W Investment Management, TOBAM Asset Management and currently as Head of Compliance with Quilter Cheviot Europe Ltd.
John is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant, a Chartered Tax Adviser and a Licentiate of the Compliance Officers of Ireland. He is also a Qualified Financial Adviser and a Commerce graduate of University College Dublin.
John was 2007 IACT President and continues to support the IACT in an advisory capacity. He is the representative of the IACT on the European Association of Corporate Treasurers and the International Group of Treasury Associations.
