On Wednesday 13th November we are hosting a half-day training course tailored for individuals who are new to treasury and interested in broadening their knowledge to advance their careers. Industry experts specialising in cash management, risk management, and funding will deliver presentations, and sharing their insights and expertise.
Attendees will have a unique opportunity to learn, participate in discussions, and gain valuable insights into the latest trends shaping the sector.

2:45pm – 2:55pm: Welcome & Introduction by IACT President, John James Dunne.
2:55pm – 3:55pm: Cash Management presented by Daragh Byrne & Laura Tunney from Bristol Myers Squibb. Daragh is the Managing Director at Bristol Myers Squibb’s European Treasury Centre based in Dublin and Laura is an Associate Director of the European Treasury Centre. The BMS team will be discussing various elements of Treasury, including a typical day, Cash Forecasting and Optimisation, Netting, Treasury systems, interactions with key stakeholders and continuous improvement initiatives.
3:55pm - 4:05pm: Investment: Money Market Funds (MMFs) presented by Veronica Iommi, Secretary General, The Institutional Money Market Funds Association (IMMFA), an organisation dedicated to promoting and supporting the development of money market funds across Europe. Veronica has extensive experience in regulatory advocacy, having worked with institutions like BNY Mellon, LCH.Clearnet SA, and Goldman Sachs. She plays a key role in shaping industry regulations, focusing on issues such as EU Money Market Fund Regulation and post-crisis financial reforms.

4:15pm – 5:15pm: Risk Management presented by Daragh Fitzgerald Head of the Execution Desk, and Ed Preston Head of Corporate Rate Risk Management at Bank of Ireland. Daragh Fitzgerald brings 20 years of experience in FX, interest rates, and fixed income trading. He will discuss the key drivers of FX markets and hedging strategies. Edward Preston specialises in helping corporate clients manage interest rate risk. With a background in fixed income and credit sales, he will cover the rationale and tools for managing interest rate risk for corporate treasurers.

5:25pm – 6:25pm Funding: Capital Structure of a Company (Debt & Equity), presented by Alan Butler, Head of Front Office for Leaseplan. Alan is an experienced Treasury professional with over 15 years working in Banking and Corporate Treasuries. Operating at a senior management level in a multi-international firm managing and organising a team of treasury professionals to provide full in-house banking services to global subsidiaries.
