This half-day training course is aimed at those who are relatively new to treasury, or those who are looking for a detailed introduction to treasury management activities, infrastructure and organization.

The Importance of Treasury Technology in the Finance Ecosystem

In today's rapidly evolving financial landscape, technology is the cornerstone of effective treasury management. This session is designed for junior treasurers or people new to treasury to equip you with baseline knowledge on the treasury technology landscape as well as providing you with an overview of various system vendors depending on your organization needs.

What is a TMS? And why do I need this in my organization? Which TMS will fit in my organization and how do we get this implemented? Which peripheral systems do we need to complement the TMS?

Join this session and get ready to master the art of treasury technology and drive strategic financial decisions!

Speakers:

Damien McMahon
Damien is a partner at PwC leading the Treasury Centre of Excellence practice. Over the past 20+ years, Damien has developed a deep expertise in the evaluation, design and implementation of cash, treasury and risk management organisations, governance structures, processes and technology solutions for multinational companies across the globe.

Gertjan Claeys
Gertjan is a manager at PwC in the Treasury Centre of Excellence practice helping clients in large treasury transformation projects ranging from liquidity structure optimizations to system design and implementation projects for large MNCs.

  2. And how can Financial Markets price risk impact a corporate?
  3. What is meant by hedging and what products and strategies do companies typically use?

Speakers:

Sebastian Gomez Alarcon
Sebastian is a member of the IRFX Structuring team at BNP Paribas, based in Paris, with a focus on corporate clients, focusing on the design of bespoke accounting friendly hedging solutions. Sebastian has over 12 years of experience working with corporate clients and previously was the head of EMEA FX Structuring team at Deutsche Bank, London, where he worked since 2015. Beforehand, he worked at UBS, where he started his career in 2011. He holds a MSc in applied mathematics from École polytechnique and an MBA from Sorbonne Business School.

Arnold Reijnders
Arnold is responsible for the distribution of Fixed Income products for Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands for BNP Paribas and has been in corporate sales for over 15 years. After spending time in London and Paris, Arnold is now based in Amsterdam. He started his career as FX sales for ABN AMRO and later RBS. He holds a MSc in business administration from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.

Speaker:

Barry McKillop
Barry graduated from Queens University Belfast with a degree in finance. He joined the Barclays Graduate Programme in London, working for 2 years, prior to a 4 year stint in their New York Office in a client coverage role. In 2019, Barry joined the ESB Treasury team. Barry’s initial focus was risk management, mitigating the Group’s exposure to FX, interest rates and inflation. More recently, Barry has focused on ESB’s funding activities. In the past 12 months, ESB’s funding team have issued €1.9bn of corporate bonds, €500m of which was in a green format. ESB also have exposure to bilateral debt, syndicated revolving credit facilities and private placements.
