Following on from the success of the inaugural event, the second Young Treasurers event will focus on the “The Future of Money” and will take place at 5:30pm on 29th September.

Set in the trendy Rose Room in the Clarence Hotel, this event hosted by the IACT, provides young treasury professionals (0-5 years’ experience) with a unique opportunity to engage with and learn from industry peers on a similar career path.

Elena Gomez, Global Domestic Payments Product Head in TTS at Citi, will discuss the contest between physical and digital money and cover:

  • The future of money is exciting and we are living in an extraordinary age, where a drive for digital paired with new aged technology has created an opportunity to redesign the landscape.
  • Will future societies be cashless? Will money continue to be regulated or non-regulated, account or token based? With a context between physical and digital money and the various different types of digital money options on the table – what is the end game?
  • In this session we will review the key runners on this race: Central Bank Money, Commercial Bank Money, Electronic Money, Cryptocurrencies and Stable Coins, demystifying what each of these options brings to the table and what they mean in the overall money landscape, to ultimately debate - who can win this race?

Keith O Shea , Senior Dealer at Fexco will discuss the use of Digital Assets by Treasury & the wide range on innovations on the Digital horizon.

  • Should Digital Assets be used as assets on the balance sheet or operational capital.

  • How soon will the Business & Treasury environment be impacted on a wide scale by the Digital Revolution.

  • What are the most promising innovations on the digital horizon.

Be ready for a speed networking exercise to accelerate your professional network, before chilling with some drinks and nibbles.
